ABOUT THE CAMPAIGN: We launched a mother campaign binding all the new offerings related to elections. The film, conceptualized by Publicis Beehive, brilliantly encapsulates the election frenzy and invites viewers to watch how the election pans out like a theatrical event on the national stage, where different people play characters, have a grand plot and multiple sub-plots and where the audience cheers and boos them, effectively participating in what is the great Indian political theatre. The 65 seconder TVC equates the polls to a large-scale production with all its frills – be it the protagonists getting ready to shine in the limelight or to all the backend drama that go towards making this mammoth task work.
Acclaimed actor Vijay Raaz has lent his voice to the narrative, bringing to life a raw and rustic film with a satirical view on the polls, that aims to strike a humorous chord with the viewers. A widespread 360-degree marketing plan has been devised to promote this campaign ranging across Print, TV, OOH, Digital, Social and Radio.
ON CONTENT AROUND POLITICS: We went live with a show, Sawaal Vote Ka, which is a live multiparty debate held in 45 constituencies. MX Original Series Kiski Sarkar which will stream from April 15 is an info comedy with a comic view on political news hosted by some of India’s best stand up artistes like Anirban Dasgupta, Saurab Mehta, Prashasti Singh, Rahul Subramanian, Kumar Varun, Rahul Dua and Nishant Suri. MX Player also hosts linear news channels such as Aaj Tak, India TV, DD News, Tez, News Nation, RSTV, Lok Sabha TV, Raj News etc that help viewers stay abreast with the latest news and updates on the go. A fresh episode of Kiski Sarkar and Sawaal Vote Ka will be dropped daily at 7pm and 7.30pm during the 45-day tenure of the polls and will be available to the viewer for free. Essentially, this season – we are aiming to make MX Player the one stop destination for all things election. In addition to this, we will also add a lot of other content interventions to the election coverage.
