If there was to be an award for the most effective campaign for the last few years, then the winner hands down would be the electoral campaign run by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the General Elections of 2014 for the 16th Lok Sabha. While the 360-degree campaign managed to garner the electorate’s attention, it was the digital campaign which was much talked about. For example, the Mission 272+ Internet campaign got volunteers in all 543 Lok Sabha seats exclusively through the Internet. BJP’s astute digital media strategy saw it explore diverse options like 3D rallies, crowd-sourced speeches and, of course, the social media, and this gave it a unique edge in the 2014 elections.
The man at the helm of this - Dr Arvind Gupta, Head - IT Cell, Bharatiya Janata Party, will address the brightest marketing executives of the industry at the CMO League, hosted by the exchange4media Group in Gurgaon on September 5, 2014.
Dr Gupta will deliver a talk on ‘Connecting with Today’s Generation: What CMOs Can Learn from the BJP Election Campaign’. He will discuss the highly acclaimed BJP campaign that brought the party to power in the recent elections, followed by a panel discussion and his interaction with members of the CMO League.
The League brings CMOs of large companies in India together in an environment of openness and collaboration that enables them to excel at what they do and solve their biggest CMO challenges. Tailored exclusively for the benefit of top marketing executives, the CMO League holds talks by the most respected marketing thinkers of our time from across the world, shares reports and research from marketing industry leaders, and leverages the first online engaged CMO community network in India.
Promoted by the exchange4media Group, the CMO League was launched on February 13, 2013 with an address by Don Tapscott, one of the world’s leading authorities on innovation, media and the economic and social impact of technology. He spoke on 'Macrowikinomics: Rebooting Business and the World’. The next in the series were talks by Simon Clift, Unilever’s first Global CMO and Sanjay Khosla, Former President, Developing Markets, Kraft Foods (Mondelez International) in August 2013 and January 2014 respectively.
