Vineet Jain, Managing Director, Times Group, is now IMPACT Person of the Year, 2013. Jain wins the award for his industry-shaping initiatives that have redefined media consumption in the digital age, setting a benchmark with young and vibrant media products and leading the paradigm shift to adoption of technology in the media & entertainment industry.
Union Law Minister Kapil Sibal, the Chief Guest at a glittering award ceremony in Mumbai, handed over the trophy and citation to Jain. “Leaders in the media & entertainment industry and various other platforms need to understand that the one thing they must cherish and protect is ‘the diversity which is at the heart of the idea of India’,” Sibal said.

He has set a benchmark with his path-breaking work to create young and vibrant media products and led the paradigm shift to the adoption of technology in the media & entertainment industry.
Mr Jain, also chief content architect of the Times Group, is recognized for his keen foresight that allows him to anticipate change in the industry.
His brilliant creative mind, sharp business acumen and radically different thought process made it possible for the Times Group to sustain growth and remain highly profitable even in an economic downturn. To him goes the credit for taking forward the 175-year-old legacy of the iconic Times of India, expanding the brand to new frontiers and making it relevant to the consumer of today.
