Jindal Steel’s sublime tribute to India in its campaign ‘The Steel of India’ has received a lofty recognition on the international stage. The film by Ayappa KM under the aegis of his production house Early Man Film won a Silver for Editing and a Bronze for Direction under the category, Film Craft.
Expressing his happiness, Naveen Jindal, Chairman, Jindal Steel & Power Ltd. took to LinkedIn and wrote, “Incredibly proud of the stellar success of the 'Steel of India' film at the 71st Cannes Lions Festival, winning Silver for Editing and Bronze for Direction. Congratulations to all who contributed to bringing this inspiring vision to reality!”
As per the official LinkedIn page of Jindal Steel & Power Ltd. the ‘Steel of India’ campaign is ‘more than just a film. It is a beautiful reflection of our nation’s heart and soul as it captures how our steel is woven into the very fabric of our lives.’
Talking about the win, Ayappa KM said to IMPACT, “We tried to push the boundaries of the way montage is viewed in India with experimental imagery and sound. We would like to commend Venkatesh Jindal, Kondurkar Studio and every team member for wholeheartedly supporting and sharing our vision.”
The campaign was a mix of still and moving images, with the still images for its Print campaign shot by Bharat Sikka. The campaign captured the spirit of India while attempting to unravel the heart of Indian identity.
