Out-of-Home advertising, or OOH as it is commonly known, is probably the oldest form of traditional advertising. However, this medium grabbed just 6.2% of the advertiser’s pie in 2013, but on a positive note, the medium grew by 6.16% last year as against projected growth of 4.35% to clock revenues of Rs 1,977 crore. According to Pitch Madison Media Advertising Outlook, 2014, the medium is expected to grow by 8.2% and bring in total ad spends of about Rs 2,138 crore. It is against this backdrop that the fourth edition of exchange4media OOH Conference and Awards for Outdoor Advertising & Digital Signage with the theme “Redefining OOH” will be held in Gurgaon on March 20, 2014.
The awards will see the best work in OOH advertising in 2013 being honoured while the conference will see eminent personalities from the OOH ecosystem – both from the client and agency side – discuss various topics pertinent to the industry. Established in 2011, these awards have now become the benchmark for the OOH industry and have come to be highly endorsed by the industry. The awards recognize and reward the exceptional and excellent work in OOH Advertising and Digital Signage from the time period between January 2013 and December 2013.
The conference will have a host of industry experts speaking on diverse topics pertaining to the OOH industry, ranging from the need for regulation and the issues & resolutions, measurement to creativity and calculating rate of innovation. The panellists and speakers will also attempt to scrutinise some interesting case studies of OOH advertising. Some of the other presentations will be on ‘Investing in OOH Media Assets’ and the need for creativity in OOH advertising. With the emergence of other media, which can also target consumers on the go, a panel discussion on “Sign of the Times: OOH Will Always be Relevant” makes for an interesting session.
