PM evaluated at Zee Business Modi@1 Ministerial Conclave
As the Modi government proceeded to complete one year in office, Amish Devgan, Editor Zee Business did an all-round analysis of the government with key ministers and the BJP President, Amit Shah at The Leela, New Delhi.
The Zee Business Ministerial conclave by Zee Business brought together key ministers, big corporates and the best minds of Indian financial markets on one stage.
The conclave acted as a platform to question and evaluate the government’s performance in the last one year. During the Budget, the government had announced a lot of industry-friendly measures and initiated steps to boost the confidence of investors, hence it gave an interesting opportunity to evaluate as to how the move is impacting the economy and whether it will restore the faith of corporate India.
The conclave began with the who’s who of the corporate world and was attended by Ashish Chauhan, R.C. Bhargava, Ajit Gulabchand, Arun Bharat Ram, Bibek Debroy, Hemant Kanoria and V. Vaidyanathan. The discussion gave interesting insights into the impact of the Modi government on the corporate world in the past one year. Devgan also discussed their expectations from the Modi government that will help give a push to the corporate world.
Then was the turn of the Ministers from the government and the first one on the stage was Nitin Gadkari, Minister for Road Transport and Highways of India. In his discussion with Devgan, he said they had taken several decisions to develop and better the transport system of India. Apart from this, he said that the Congress had ill-treated the nation for the past 60 years. In the next five years, he promised to strengthen the financial structure of India.
Jitender Singh, Minister for Science and Technology, said, PM Modi gives freedom to his ministers to work independently and the whole world is praising his governance.
Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Member of Parliament, said, we need to work towards increasing the strength of the skilled workforce, while maintaining harmony with the corporate world.
Mahesh Sharma, Member of Lok Sabha, had positive words for the government when he said that PM Modi has improved the image of India as well as earned respect for Indians in the world.
Ravi Shankar Prasad, Minister for Communications and Information Technology, said that the government is earning money through honest means. “Earlier, the Ministry was known for scams and scandals. Talking about strengthening the Digital/Mobile world, he said that everyone has a right over the Internet and more towers will ensure proper network for users and the government is working towards that.
The most awaited discussion was with BJP President, Amit Shah. He made an impactful statement saying that in the past one year, the government had worked towards creating a smooth path for the future. He also presented the government’s manifesto at the conclave, which was done for the first time since the formation of the Modi government.
Suresh Prabhu, Railway Minister of India, said the government is trying to make the Railways recover from “ICU”. Full privatization won’t be feasible, and is not an option, he said.
