The city culture does bring with it sparkle and glamour, but it also brings along a hectic lifestyle. Running a business is not easy. Every day proposes a new challenge; tackling each of them often demands long hours of work. In this hustle and bustle, I found myself feeling confused. My vision was getting clouded, and new ideas seemed like a distant reality. During this phase of my life, I decided to take a break and explore quieter parts of the country. I was hoping to find myself all over again.
I took a trip to the mesmerising city of Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, followed by multiple stops at different parts of the beautiful state of Himachal Pradesh. I embarked on my journey with no expectations at all. However, from the moment I reached and the more days I spent in the state’s captivating valleys, the clutter began to get cleared. Interacting with a variety of people throughout my trip gave me an array of fresh perspectives. I picked up the habit of meditating daily, and it has revolutionised my outlook on life.
The aftermath of my journey was such that my performance improved manifold. I grew not only as an individual but also as a professional. Since then, I often take breaks to explore newer regions. Sometimes my destination is a nearby farm, and other times I find myself backpacking to a hill station. Travel fills me with peace and broadens my outlook and thinking spectrum. While taking a trip, I find myself indulging in little things like a game of chess with a stranger or simply having a wholesome conversation with another. Such incidents take me back to my carefree days as a child as well as strengthen my faith and beliefs. They are a good reminder of who I am and what I truly enjoy.
Travel is an effective way to discover oneself. It allows you to let go of all the worries and focus on what excites your inner self the most. For me, my journeys are a spiritual awakening. They give me the space to think and touch base with all those parts of myself that occasionally get lost in the business of everyday life.
