I have always been fond of the phrase ‘plugged in’. Though it is quite a millennial thing to do, I love the idea of going down the solitary rabbit hole with my AirPods plugged in, listening to Aphex Twins on Spotify or The Tim Ferriss Show on my Apple podcast. That becomes one of the moments I cherish the most – it is something that I look forward to every day, especially during my travels in the bustling city of Bombay or anywhere else in the world. While music gives me inspiration and calms my nerves, podcasts make my day a little brighter because I get to learn a lot. It helps me block all the unwanted interference in my life, though not in an anti-social way. It in fact becomes a way of making my life more efficient by immersing myself in an auditory environment.
That’s when I started thinking that voice technology has helped revive audio marketing because for people like me, consumption of audio is no longer a leisure activity, but in fact is more of a lifestyle. The voice industry has always been touted with opportunities to build a more immersive customer experience, and for good reason. Honestly, it is hard to comprehend a life without voice-enabled entertainment because we have now integrated it into our everyday lives. The fact remains that the future of voice technology is bright, and as consumers of this new reality, we now have new voice-driven mediums to consume content.
Another avenue of escape that I seek is trying out and experimenting with cuisines that promise culinary adventures. Everyone knows the love I share for food, including the vada pav vendor who sells right across my building. I will probably never know how to make food myself, but I sure do love to snack on food that is interesting and that appeals to my taste buds. Being an avid traveller, I have had the opportunity to explore cuisines that capture the cosmopolitan nature of places. The visual beauty of plated grub, the aromatic infusion of local spices, the varied textures of the food, the cultural and historical background it bears, all form an integral part of conjuring up memories that take you to places. If you’re associated with food in any way, you would know that more than the taste, it is the experience of eating food that makes it wholesome yet personal. Now more than ever, people are hungry for food-related content. They’re more inclined to watch food content because it serves to inspire and assist. We will always have content that transcends boundaries and time, and capturing that passion for others to see will definitely translate to huge opportunities.
You see, I can be very philosophical about food, and the adventure that comes along with it. We are in the midst of booming food cultures across the world, and there’s no stopping that. I, for one, cannot wait to hit the road to experiment with diverse, local cuisines that go beyond the four walls of a restaurant. I enjoy food with all my senses, appreciating every single bite or morsel. That is an adventure in itself.
