ASEEM KHARE
Founder & CEO, Taskbob
As a kid, the concept and characterization of Bob the Builder and his friends used to fascinate me a lot. The way he and his pals use to dig, haul and build together, the way they used to solve problems and get things done with a positive attitude, everything used to pull that tiny nerve in me and make me smile.
At that point of time, I could barely realize that serving people and serving households will ultimately give my life a purpose. Somewhere between watching Bob fix things and being the facilitator to send ‘bobs’ across the city, I grew a lot or for that matter, Taskbob grew a lot.
Today, when I pause to look back, I remember the thrill that securing a lakh hits on an online virtual betting platform for IPL 2 gave me. It was a two-month stint back in 2010. It was then that the feeling of making customers happy hit me. That’s how the idea of serving people triggered, and all of it began. I and three of my juniors started with shaukk.com, a platform built to encourage the interaction of like-minded people. The user-engagement that we were able to generate then gave a very meaningful insight, something that chalk talk could never have taught us. We realized that people were so busy solving their problems that the time to pursue their interests was nil.
The insight gave us the pain points of people around us, and we decided to approach them with solutions. We realized getting reliable home services was a big worry; that’s where most of people’s weekend time went by and that’s how Taskbob came to be. Eventually, Taskbob became the second name for quality and reliability and a feeling of contentment and happiness embraced me when people entrusted us with the job of creating happy households.
I have found a purpose and am really keen to keep up with deliverables but not by compromising on the quality of the life I live. This is what I wanted for people around me too - a quality life devoid of dayto- day worries. When Taskbob materialized to serve as a one-stop solution for all household worries, joy
enveloped me. It was not only about being able to serve people, it was also about being able to provide a financially secure and dignified employment opportunity to our service partners. So when I get to read reviews like how beautifully the Myrra girls have done their job, or how EPC (Electrician, Plumber, Carpenter) services helped solve a crisis or may be how the cleaning gave a wow experience to customers, I know we have done much more than business. And we have been able to do it because of the expert hands at work who were trained to act like professionals.
To my delight, the inspiration drawn from Bob the Builder has worked remarkably well. Just like Bob, even Taskbob has successfully achieved the motive of spreading smiles. I remember how cheerfully his clan used to reply, when they were asked- “Can we fix it?”
They use to say in unison “Yes, we can!” With a team as proficient as mine, even I can say “Yes we can! Yes, we can create many happy households! Yes, we can spread happiness!”
